NEW FIELD IN TRANSVAAL TEN THOUSAND”*‘HOPEFULS.” Australian and N.Z. CnHp Association. CAPETOWN, June 9. To-morrow wi.l see a big diamond rush when the new field at Elandsputte, in the Transvaal, is thrown open. Three weeks ago there were only a few shacks on the field. Since then the disoovery of a number of valuable diamonds has attracted all classes, and 10,000 people are camped in the vicinity. The trains are crowded and the roads crammed with all sorts of vehicles bringing a further influx. Already 3000 licenses have been Issued. Tt is expected that this number will be largely increased when the race for claims starts.
