STABILISING THE FRANC
FRENCH GOVERNMENT’S TASK AMERICAN CREDIT USED. Reuter’s Telegram. (Received June 4, 8.15 p.m.) PARIS, June 4. M. Peret told the finance committee of the Chamber of Deputies that the Government had already used part of the J. P. Morgan credit to holster up tiie franc. Sufficient remained for efficacious action, if required. He added that it would be necessary to stabilise the franc at a rate slightly above the present rate, in order to avoid a rise in wholesale prices.
