AUSTRALIAN MINERS BITTER MAY REPLACE THE STRIKERS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, June 3. There is a bitter feeling among the miners on the northern field against the continuation of the strike. Meetings of miners’ lodges confirmed the delegate board’s deoision, and one lodge decided that the federation be asked to give the engine-drivers seven days’ notice in which to resume work, failing which the federation should endeavour to find men to replace the striking engine-drivers and firemen. The Deputy-President of the Commonwealth Arbitration Court granted the application of the associated collieries’ proprietors to prosecute the Engine-drivers’ and Firemen’s Association for a breach of the Commonwealth Arbitration Act in striking against an award made for tbe enginedrivers and firemen by the coal industry’s special tribunal. The Federal Government has decided to make available 200,000 tons of the Navy Department’s coal at Grass, N.S.W., to enable the essential services and industries to he carried on during the coal strike. It lias also i econstituted the Coal Industry Board, which will immediately consider the distribution of tho Navy coal supplies.
