EMPRESS THEATRE
DOUBLE FEATURE BILL. Commencing to-day at the Empress Theatre is “The Best People,” featuring Warner Baxter and Esther Ralston. Her mother wanted her to marry a man with social standing, she wanted tc marry her chauffeur. And her brother disgusted mother by wanting to marry a chorus girl. So mother handed the job of curing these two youngsters over to her aristocratic brother. He got along fine till he met Millie Montgomery, and then things started to happen. Also screening is "Code of the Wilderness,” which is an adaptation of Charles Alden Seltzer’s popular novel. His tales of the old West have won for him a host of readers. His cowboy stories are written from first-hand knowledge, as he rode the range for several years in New Mexico, and are internationally famous. The story deals with the fact that “one man is as good as another, and no better than his gun-play.” John ’ Bowers and Alice Calhoun are starred. The supporting items and the musical programme have been specially chosen.
