LONDON WOOL SALES GOOD PRICES REALISED. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London bouse, under date 27th instant There was a good attendance at the opening of the sales to-day, competition by Continental buyers being active, and prices, as compared wih the close of preceding series, ruled in sellers’ favour for scoured merino, very firm for greasy merino and fine crossbred, and in favour of buyers for medium and coarse crossbred. Home trade is quiet. The opening catalogues were fairly representative. The N.Z. Farmers' Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report having received the following coble from their London office:— Wool sales opened to-day, and prices compared wih last series in London. Merino fine crossbred par to 5 pel- cent, up. Medium crossbreds, coarse crossbreds par to 5 per cent. down. The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office, under date 27th irjst.:—The sales have opened with moderate competition, and large attendance of buyers. Merinos and fine crossbreds are slightly dearer. Medium and coarse crossbreds are about one halfpenny cheaper. There was a poor selection at the opening sales. Wright, Stephenson and Co. and Abraham and Williams, Ud., report having received cable advice from their London house in connection with tho present series of London sales. They report:— Wool sales opened, average attendance of buyers. Competition animated. Continental and Bradford buyers chief operators. The Wairnrnpn Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., are in receipt of trie following cablegram from their London agents, under date April 27tli:—Wool sales opened to-day, and were well attended by Home, Continental, and American buyers. Compared with the Moping rntes of previous sale the market is as follows-.—Fine cro c sbrcd, par to 5 per cent, advance; medium crossbred, par to 5 per cent, decline; coarse crossbred, no a notable chance.
