At the Supreme Court, Mr Justice Herdman dealt with the cases of two postal officials on charges of theft in their capacity as officers of a Government department. In the case of Charles Joseph Hugh Curry, who had admitted nine charges of theft, tho accused’s good official record was urged by counsel. The judge said the accused had held a position of trust, and had committed thefts on nine occasions. He would be detained for reformative treatment for twelve months. iJohn William Robert Gussy admit. t.«kl seven charges of theft as a postal official. He was temporarily employed at Porootarao. The accused, who had two previous convictions, was sentenced to twelve months’ hard labour.
