DEATH OF CYCLIST
ENGINEER ARRESTED CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Match 29. At the conclusion of the inquest on the death of Frederick Witty, who was killed on North road on March Bth, the coroner returned a verdict that debased met his death through being run ove" by a motor-car driven w John Guy Dennison. Dennison is the engine©" engaged by the Southland County Council to supervise the work of bituminising the North road. Tlie evidence showed that the deceased, who was riding a bicycle, had been struck from behind and thrown against the windscreen of the car. Dennison was arrested on a charge of manslaughter. Bail was allowed in a surety of £2OO, and the accused was leinanded to appear on April 7th.
