SPRING HAS COME
Spring has come, with all its fresh, green beauty. Let us take a walk down this sunny lane, where the pretty hawthorn is growing on either side. Do you hear the birds singing in the blossoming orchard? See those birds bgilding their nests in the bluegum's . . . and there are two birds carrying straw in their bills up into the eaves of that little cottage. Over there the lake reflects the fresh green shoots of the willows, and all the hillside is covered with the golden flower of the gorse and broom. Let us walk now through this little bit of bush. There are butterflies of all colours and hues flitting about the foxgloves and rangiora. Here is a fairylike bower of ferns and clinging clematis. But here we are in our own garden, Where it is gay with spring flowers, and the bumble bees are humming round the flowering currants.
