Stephens were convicted by a Superior Court of conspiring to kidnap Mary Pickford and hold her for a ransom of' 200,000 dollars. A third defendant was acquitted. The men were arrested last May, after what the police declare a Series of conferences, at which the kidnapping of a film celebrity, had been field. Mary Pickford was agreed upon, because she had 200,000 dollars in her own name. Before their plans matured the men were arrested. Sentence was deferred.
