DAVIS CUP DEFENDERS
TILDEN, RICHARDS, JOHNSTON AND NORRIS WILLIAMS. Reuter’s Telegram. (Received August 7, 8.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 6. Forest Hills advices state that the tentative selection of four players for America’s Davis Cup tennis team were announced by, the chairman of the committee:— Tilden. . Richards. , Johnston. Norris Williams. The first three were members of last year’s team, Johnston, who was dropped as the singles representative in the 1924 Davis Cup team, will fight to regain the position from Vincent Richards on August 15th, when they wjll meet in a match for the best three out of .five sets at Forest Hills. The winner will be named as No. 2, of the team.
