FIGHTING IN SYRIA
FRENCH FORCED TO RETIRE. Reuter’s Telegram. JERUSALEM, August 6. It is reported from Amman that during the repent operations between the Frepoh and the Druse tribesmen in Syria, the Druses captured several guns, whioh enabled them to take Seida, the capital of Jebel Druse. i The French retired to Ezraa, losing a number of killed and wounded. The reverse bias caused consternation in Deraa. The Druses, are reported to have captured 100 camels laden with ammunition and provisions.
