WHEAT FOR MACHINERY
RUSSIA BEGINNING TO TRADE LARGE EXCHANGE ARRANGED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, July 26. Mr E. F. Wise, eoonomio adviser in respect of foreign trade to the Central Union. of Soviet Russian Co-operative Societies, end formerly British representative on . the Permanent Committee of the Inter-Allied Supreme Economic Council, announces that an exchange of Russian wheat for British and European producis baa been arranged. The Russo-British Grain Company is shipping £5,000,000 worth of Russian wheat to Britain in the next few months, and a British co-operative wholesale society has arranged for an immediate credit of £600,000 for it. A similar credit lias been established in France for a similar purpose. < Large orders for machinery, toots, and textiles, on credit, have been placed in Britain, Germany, Poland, and Czecho-Slovakia. Britain will receive more if she is willing to offer as good credit as the Continent. The goods will be paid for out of the proceeds of the sale of the wheat.
