A SUCCESSFUL YEAR DIVIDEND RECOMMENDED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 27. The balance-sheet of the New Zealand Insurance Company, Ltd., for the year ended May 31st last, shows that the net income from premiums, interest, and rents amounts to £1,184,357. The surplus on the year’s transactions amounts to £214,874, and the reserve fund has been increased by £125,000. The 'directors recommend the payment of a dividend at the rate of, lOd per' share, absorbing £62,500,, making. Is 7d per share for the year, and leaving a net balance of £124,585 to be carried forward. It will also be proposed at the ordinary general meeting of shareholders that a call of 2s per share he made and a dividend of a similar amount be declared and to be applied in payment of such call.
