DISCOVERY LEAVES PORTSMOUTH T ABSENT YOH ‘TWO AND A HALFYEARS. ; Reuter's Telegram. . LONDON, July 24. The late Captain Scott’s Antarctic exploring ship Discovery, which has been ' practically rebuilt, has sailed from Portsmouth for a voyage of two and a half years for->research in the Antarctic, principally in connection with whaling. After testing echosounding instruments in the Bay of Biscay the ship will convey stores to Tristan da Cunba, and will possibly call at Capetown. She will arrive in Sonth Georgia in October.
