WELLINGTON CARNIVAL
DOMINION INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION WELLINGTON - WINTER, SHOW. The carnival period, of which the Dominion Industrial Exhibition and the Wellington Winter Show are the chief features, next, of course, to the visit of the American Fleet, is fast approaching, and it is daily becoming more apparent that this combination will bo considerably greater in magnitude than was the case last year. The huge Pipitea shed, which will house both exhibitions, is now a liive of industry, and it is evident that the various exhibitors are vieing with each other in their endeavours to make a display which will he worthy not only of the Empire City, but also of the Dominion In the competitive classes at the Winter Show the primary industries will be thoroughly represented, while the secondary industries will be done full justice in the industrial section. The big combined show will be opened by His Excellency the Governor-General on Thursday afternoon next, and will remain open until August 15th. During the first two days of the show the Wellington Kennel Club will hold their annual exhibition in tho Lorabton shed, close by, which it will share with the Wellington Poultry, Pigeon, Canary and Cat Society’s annual snow. From August 6th to 14th this building will accommodate the live stock section of the Winter Show, which includes a fine entry of fat sheep and a fair representation of stud milicing cows. In order to attract visitors from the country, the Railway Department will issue special excursion tickets to Wellington during the Carnival period from all piirts North Island.
