ITALIAN-GERMAN ALLIANCE Reuter’s Telegram. (Received June 19, 8.30 p.m.) ROME, June 19. The betrothal of Princess Mafalda to Prince Philip of Hesse is announced.
Princess Mafalda is the second daughter of the Kirfg and Queen of Italy. She is 22. Prince Philip is a member of the ruling family which abdicated when Hesse, with other German States, turned republican in 1918. He is 28.
