There Were astonishing scenes, at the much-addertised marriagei of ' Prince Ferdinand de Lichtenstein'to Miss Shelagh.Brunner, at the, Brompton Oratory. Sjtectators assembled at 9 o’clock, some perching on the rails in the Lady Chapel, others climbing into niches reserved for sacred statues. The; vergers * vainly tried to stop the public from standing on chairs. When the invited guests, numbering 700, arrived, they found the aisles a solid mass of peopde. -Stalwart policemen, with interlinked arms, marched in front of th© bride and bridegroom in order to force a way to the altar. The ceremony was highly spectacular, the bride wearing gold lace over a gold lame and’gold veil, with eight, brides-' In aids in medieval gowns of gold lame. Twenty-one- suites of rooms were engaged at the Carlton Hotel, for the bridegroom’s relations. The bridal reception took-the form of a huge afternoon dance. j
