Tho match between Yorkshire and ,thc South African eleven, played at Bradford, was drawn, there being several interruptions through rain during the final day’s play. Yorkshire scored 285 in the first innings, and in the second declared when four wickets were down for 147 runs (E. Oldroyd 85 not out, H. Sutcliffe 88). Dr T. J. Dixon took three wiokets for 82 runs South Africa, hatting on a sticky wicket, had 70 minutes in which to make 154 runs to win. but they only managed to hit up 64 for the loss of three wickets. The weather was fine, after rain in the morning, and the wicket was easy for the match between Northamptonshire and South Africa, at Northampton. Northampton made 157 in their first innings.
