HARRIERS

SCOTTISH CLUB. The usual weekly run of the Scottish Harriers was held from Mr A. Needham’s residence at Karori, twenty members par\t was* decided to run two paoks, Mr L. F. Dawkins being in charge of the fast one and Mr E. D. Trail in charge of the slow one. An excellent trail, which was laid by Messrs H. Batchelor and W. Clark, led down Parkvale road, crossing the hills towards Karori Park and across the tram lines. From here the trail went up the valley to Beauchamp street and over the back to Dutbie street, from whence it led down the main road to Standen street, and home. A run-in was held over the last halfmile, an excellent contest resulting, the winner being G. Zander (scr), who finished two yards in front of W. A. Melrose fscr), who defeated EL Whitehouso (25yds) by two yards for second place. W. Keeble was fourth, the remainder of the runners being close up. Members are given a reminder of the fact that their social and dance will he held in the Soottish Society’s Hall, Lower Cuba street, on July 15th. • Members of all harrier clubs and their' friends are given a oordial invitation to attend. Tickets for admission may be obtained from Mr B. Woodoock, ears of Len McKenzie, chemist, Courtenay place.
