INDIAN UNRESTH

BOMBING RAIDS CONTINUE. MAHSUDS SOBERED. Australian and NZ. Cable Association DELHI, January 9. Punitive ‘bombing operations continue against the Mahsnas, and appear to have had a sobering effect on the inhabitants of the bombed areas. The actual casualties were small, but T ho material damage is great. One tribe, which recently abducted officers and their attendants, previously recalcitrant, is now talking peace. The inhabitants of Makin are apparently suffering from guilty consciences, and are busy digging themselves in. Work on the Razmak road is being carried on without much interruption, though a prominent tribal leader threatened to oppose the advance cf our troops to Razmak.
