THURSDAY’S SITTING. POLICE AND CIVIL CASES. Mr W. €r. Biddell, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court yesterday, when police and civil cases were heard. For drunkenness, Robert Galloway Simpson, with two previous convictions, was fined 20s, in default three days’ imprisonment. Walter Charles Brook, for being drunk while in charge of a motorbicycle, was fined 40s, in 'default seven days’ imprisonment. CIVIL CASES. JUDGMENT BY DEFAULT. Hunt, S.M., presided a>t the Magistrate’s Court esterday when police and summons cases were hoard. Charles Aloysius Wilkinson, on a charge of failing to comply with the terms of his probation, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Defendant was ordered to pay £1 per week restitution money. William Patrick Leary, on a charge of being an idle and disorderly person, was on the application of Chief-Detec-tive emp, remanded until to-day. Bail was allowed on a security of £SO. Eric Garnett Toulsnn, who had fail ed to comply with the terms cf his ro-
lease on probation, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. James O’Neill, who pleaded piilty te drinking liquor in a restaurant after tho hotels were closed, was nued 10s and costs. Robert Bruce McKinley, for being drunk while in charge of a hn.te ai d carriage, was fined £3 and costa Francis Leo Shivnan, on two chaises of unlawfully converting a victor bicycle to his own use, was admitted to probation for twelve months and ordered to make good damages amounting to £8 at the rate of £lO * r week-. For stealing a fountain pen rained at 2os, the property of Leonard Lewis Johnston, Stanley Raby Wright was fiimd 90s and codts. William Green, for selling short weight bread, was fined £lO and costs.
