COMPETITIONS SOCIETY
WHAT IT HOPES TO DO. DEMONSTRATION CONCERTS. The achievements of the. Wellington Competitions Society and its aims for the future -were briefly referred to by Mr F. G. Cray, its president, at the inaugural evening of the 1922 season last night. The society, he said, now offered six scholarships, three of which were given by the society itself and three by donors who came forward annuallyThese were of the utmost practical value and entitled the winner to tuition in any part of New Zealand. As the years went by they hoped to give a good many more scholarships. The executive council also were of the opinion that they should have annually in each of the four centres demonstrations by the cream of the competitions. There, was a federation of competitions societies in England end in Australia, and he hoped in time New Zealand would see such a federation. This would lead to a saving of expense as well as giving other advantages.
