A PROMISING OPENING
AUCKLAND DAIRY SEASON. PER PRESS ASSOOIATIOW. AUCKLAND, August 18. The new dairying season in the Auckland district has opened with every promise that a fresh record in production will be established. Everts confidently predict that last year’s great record in butter production will be eclipsed before the end of the season. These optimistic views are supported by figures showing the quantity of butter received at the grading stores since the new season opened, compared with the quantity received during the corresponding period of last year. From July Ist to August 12th, 24,259 boxes were received for grading, as against 11,140 boxes for the • corresponding period of last year, an increase of 18,119 boxes. Last season’s output established a record, considerably over 1,000,000 boxes being graded for export. This represented an increase of about 300,000 boxes on the previous season’s record.
