NEW AIRCRAFT FOR BRITAIN. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, August 17. The “Daily Mail” states that tho Air Ministry has placed a first set of orders, to the value of £300,000, as part of a Boheme for providing 500 machines for Home defence. The machines ordered include a great allmetal machine, weighing fifteen tons. Another is an improved aerial trooptransport, which will accommodate twenty-five soldiers with their equipment. Others include a hug© multiengined bomber, which ©an be manoeuvred like a small scout; a metal single-seater fighter, faster than anything yet built; and several flying ships capable of flying at a high speed ■or riding on rough seas.
