EX-KAISER’S MEMOIRS
£50,000 PAID FOR RIGHTS. VOLUMES IN REPLY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received August 18, 9.20 p.m.) BERLIN, August 17. Mr Clinton Brainard, head of MoClure’s, the publishers, after securing the world’s rights of the ex-Kaiser’s memoirs for £50,000, has arranged with M. Viviani and Mr Asquith (o write volumes in reply. It is reported here that one of the most sensational chapters in the ex-Kaiser’s book deals with his offer of temporal power to the Pope in the event of the latter being successful in peace mediation.
