TRACTOR V. THE HORSE

SAND-SHIFTING AT LYALL BAY. About bjx men with, two horses and small scoops have been put on to level some of the sand dunes on the City Council Lyall Bay reserve, which may be the work that will end in a new municipal golf course. On the Stellin estate subdivision, in the same locality, a tractor has been observed at work. To it was hitched a sizable sooop, which made a considerable impression on the sandy ridgjes. It is stated that the tractor with one man is doing as much eand-ehifting in half an hour as the corporation’s two onehorse scoops were doing in a day.
