C. STEPHENS’S APPEAL. DISMISSED BY APPEAL JUDGES. Before the New Zealand Racing Conference (Judges of Appeal) came tho mauler of the appeal by C. Stephens, jockey,; against ihe decision of the' "Wanganui. District Committee, in deciding that ihe said C. Stephens' was guiltyi of a breach of rule I, par!. XXV., of the Rules of Racing, and increasing the penalty of three months’ suspension imposed upon’ the said C. Stephens by itho Marton Jockey Club, to suspension for six months as from January 3rd, 1922. The judgment was as under: ■‘The judges do not feel justified in over-ruling the oecision of the Wanganui District Committee in view ol the unanimous finding of the 'judicial committee of the Marton Jockey Club, who had every opportunity oi coining to a correct conclusion on facts which occurred under tiieir personal observation. The judges therefore dismiss the appeal. (Signed) George Clifford, W. H. Berries, P. Miller, judges.”
