LONDON, .August 6. Middlesex beat Kent by 5 runs. Hearne took six wickets for "20 runs. Hobbs and Strudwiclt have accepted membership of the English team. Following are the averages:—Batting: Hendren 69.65, Hobbs 54.76, Hearno 1 50.8, Buasell 47.18, Makepeace 46.37. Bowling: Rhodes 12.02, Woolley 12.15, Howell 14.46, Parkin 14.68.
Gloucester beat Hants, dismissing them for 36 in the first innings and 55 in tho second. Mills took eleven wickets for 50, and Packer eight for 33.
