POLES’ PROGRESS important advance in PRIPET REGION. ' By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright Reuter’s Telegram. (Received July 13, 7.15 p.m.) LONDON, July 12. A Warsaw communique states: The Poles have abandoned the lines on the Niemen river at Vilna. The Bolsheviks have reached the fortifications outside Minsk. The Polish army in tho Pripet region is advancing in the roar of tho enemy and has occupied Owrucz, completely defeating the Bolsheviks, killing 400 and taking prisoner 200, and capturing much booty. The Poles also defeated tho Bolshevik cavalry’, annihilating a brigade and capturing 80 guns. The cavalry fled towards Rovno, which the Poles are now attacking.
(Received July 14, 1-30 u.m.) LONDON, July 12. In the House of Commons Mr Bonar Law denied that the proposal for an armistice on the Polish front implied Allied recognition of the Soviet Government. CAMPAIGN TO GO ON. “REDS” CLAIM GREAT SUCCESSES. (Received July 13, 11.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 13. The “Daily Chronicle’' learns that the Bolsheviks, after receiving the Allied Note, decided to continue the campaign against Poland. A Spa message states that M. Grabeki ordered the Polish military commanders to negotiate for an armistice af the earliest possible moment. Warsaw advices report that 300,000 Polish volunteers enlisted in the - past two days. The Bolshevists are now within fifty miles of Vilna, and claim over 4000 prisoners. IN THB_ORIMEA. , (Received July-13, 10.30 p.m.) LONDON. July 12. Helsingfors telegrams report that General Wrangel’s successes continue. General Kupetov executed a vigorous offensive in the rear of the “Red” army, forcing the Bolsheviks to fall back a considerable distance, the Kuban Cossacks taking prisoner 10,000 and capturing 50 Bolshevik guns. General Wrangel’s right wing is now operating at Toganrog, threatening the coal district of Benetz.
