CASUALTIES
THROWN FROM A CART. CITY COUNCIL EMPLOYEE INJURED. A man named Charles Fraser, aged 60, employed by tho City Council as inspector of drains, was admitted to the hospital at 11.45 o’clock yesterday morning suffering from a fractured log and bruises. It appears that the man was riding .on a cart in Vogeltown and slipped, sustaining the above injuries, which necessitated his removal to the hospital. Ho is progressing favourably. DIED ON THE ROAD.
Mai by Lewis Cotton, a single 'man, aged 48, a resident of New Brighton (Christchurch), was found dead! last night on the iroad. Deceased was well known in stock and station circles in Canterbury. His father formerly owned the Lake Coleridge station, and deceased was prominently identified with back-country runs. He was transacting business aa usual yesterday, but had suffered one or two. heart attacks recently.—Press Association. LADY CYCLISTS DEATH. An Auckland Press Association message states that Margaret Moore Smythc, a young woman, while cycling, on tho Ponsouby road, collided with a tramway pole in the centre of the street and fell under a lorry driven by F. Beacham. She was removed to the hospital, where she died.
