HERETAUNGA WATER SUPPLY
SPECIAL EATING AREA. A deputation consisting of Messrs C. A. Ewen and A. Sladdcn, representing tho residents of Heretannga, waited on tho Hutt County Council at its meeting yesterday, urging tho council to declare a special rating area for tho carrying out of tho Heretaunga water supply scheme. Mr Sladden pointed out that the petition was first presented to tho council in 1917, but owing to tho war, and the difficulty in obtaining pipes, the council was unable to give effect to tho scheme. , On tho motion of the ' chairman (Councillor F. G. Cooper), tho council decided to declare Heretaunga a special rating area as requested, and to carry out the required steps.
