The Rev. Dr Liston, Coadjutor Bishop of Auckland, has left on a trip to Sydney. Dr Liston will return to Dunedin nest month for the consecration ceremony in connection with his new appointment.

Mr E. R. Godward, who left Invergill close on four years ago in connection with an invention for economising in the use of petrol in motor-cars, etc., nas returned. During hio absence he visited England and America.

Mr R. H. Wynyard, of Auckland, is at present in Wellington. His many friends in this city will be pleased to learn that h© has recovered from_ hig recent accident by which ho sustained injuries to his knee. Mr Wynyard is staying at the Empire.

Mr D. R. Caldwell, a former resident of Wellington, who contemplates a rather lengthy absence from the Dominion, has resigned from the directorate of the Auckland. Farmers’ Cooperative Auctioneering Company, Ltd.

Mr ■ William Steedman, a wellknown resident of To Aroha, who has relations and friends in Wellington/ died the other day after a very short illness. Mr Steedman was at one time clerk to the Waitoa Drainage Board, and until a year ago was farming in th© Waihou district. Latterly he had resided in Te Aroha, and had contemplated returning to Scotland. He leave* a widow and two young children.

The interment was of a private nature, except for the pall-hearers, who were Messrs Eirio Bullock, son of the deceased,' G. Callender (secretary), C. Turrell (local manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company) W. A. Kennedy (local manager of the Union Steam Ship Company), J. Findlay (New Zealand representative of tho Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company), J R. Rooper (representing the Cunard Lino, N.Z.), W. Wallis (representing the Federal Line), and R. Tnggs (Public Trust). Messrs Tnggs, Hooper, Wallis, and Findlay, members of the New Zealand Overseas Shipowners’ Committee, represented that body, of which the late Mr Bullock was a .member A service at tho crematorium was conducted by the Rev. .1.
