There haa been little activity in grain •produce lines since the holidays. The shortage of trucks and the lack of shipping are fatcors in reducing operations. There is a good deal of business ln email quantities, and shipping facilities only require to improve to stimulate business. With North Island merchanrs there have-been made commitments that will require extensive, filling. There are only a few deals in Algerians to report, 5s 6d at country stations, representing the limit of prices. - Chaff is still in request up to 7s at country stations. Cocksfoot and clover has eased somewhat, and ryegrass also shows an easing tendency. Potatoes have declined in value, and ■£i 10s to Li 12s fid at country stations flow represents the maximum of merchants* offers. However, there is not much- activity in the market, merchants showing little disposition to buy, except in small quantities. The general impression is that there will bo a plentitude of tubers, but. reports suggest that this will not be the case. The position in regard to onions is unchanged.
