THE PAHIA FATALITY BODIES STILL UN R ECO VE R ED. Further particulars of tlic motor boat fatality at Pallia have heen received by inspector Fouhy, of Invercargill, from Constable Pont, of Orcpuki. The report states that Miller was attempting to bring the motor launch from Riverton to Orcpuki. He was joined by Millwood for the tnp. Both weru inexperienced with oil engines, and were advised to stay the night at Colac, as the weather was getting too rough. They, however, decided to contniuc, but when they had reached Pahia they got into difficulties and ran for shelter m the bay. Millwood was engaged in baling while Miller attended to the engine, which, owing to the amount of water shipped, was giving trouble. They cast anchor and appealed to'a hoy named Allan Harrington for help. The boy summoned Mr A. H. Gray (a farmer) who went out to the launch in his dinghy, and climbed on board. Ho invited both the men to leave the launch, which was now dragging its anchor and getting nearer the rocks, and come ashore in the dinghy. Millwood appeared to be to come ashore, but when Miller said that- ha wanted to save the launch, Millwood decided Jo remain on board with him. After handing the men on the launch an extra oar that they had asked for, Air Gray pushed off and immediately some heavy seas swept the launch, and the men aboard her disappeared. End Mr Vaile was eventually brought on to AYhangarei for medical attention and treatment. A FOOTBALLER'S DEATH. Ihe body of the Addington Rugby League l player, R. M. F. Hill, who died as tho result of an accident on the footba'i field* at Greymouth, was brought to Christchurch. There.was an impressive scene .at Greymouth .early on Monday morning when the cortege moved to the railway station. Tho coffin was •borne by representatives of the Kohinoor, R-orianga and Blackball Clulps, and the West Coast League centre with the Kunanga State Colliery Banff playing the '‘Funeral March.” The coffin was covered with beautiful -.wreaths from the Coast Longue Clubs, the president of the Coast centre, Messrs Uren; Bros., and ocher sympathisers. The burial took place at the Sydenham Cemetery, end was ■ attended by a, largo number of footballers, employees of the Addington railway workshops and personal friends. The service was conducted by the Rev. Canon Bean. Among the many wreaths was one from Australia, end others from the Federal, Rnngiora, Sydenham, . Addington, Gieymouth, and Runanga Clubs. Amongst those, present wore: —Dr. Thacker, M P., and representatives of practically every football and cricket club in Christchurch.
