TVURINQ Convalescence, persons in charge of Patients who have suffered from A-' Influenza should observe the following general rules: X-HOUSING.—See that-the patient gets plenty of sunlight and fresh air. 2. DlET.—Give nourishing diet, such as milk, eggs, fish, tripe, 'soups, milk puddings, freshly cooked meat, or toast. 3. BATHING.—The patient should bo bathed daily in warm water with all duo precautions against chill. If, after bathing, the patient feels chilled, he should he put back to bed between blankets till the feeling passes. 4. GETTING UP. —The patient must remain lying in bed for at least two days after the temperature is normal. Where there have been serious complications, this period.must be extended. After this, the patient can sit Up for short periods once or twice a day for the next two or three days. Thereafter, the patient can gradually resume normal habits of life. 5. MEDICAL TREATMENT.—Tonio : A tonic mixture has been prepared at the Medical Stores and can be obtained through the Central Office. City Council Chambers, or the local relief committees. 16. COUGH.—Where' cough js troublesome, a cough mixture can bo obtained from the Central-Office, City Council Chambers, or through the local relief committees. Supplementary to this, especially where there is pain about the chest, relief can bo given by rubbing the back and sides of the chest with turpentine liniment (Ellimnn’s Embrocation will do), and applying hot flannels. “ .(S' 7.
