HOROWHENUA NOTES

(From. Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, November 23. The epidemic is still the cause of deaths in this district, but it has been Tell checked. Mr Barron, a well-known Paraparaumu resident, has succumbed, and Mr George Kopata died at the Otaki hospital to-day. Tnis is the third death in the Eopata family this week. Very few fresh cases are reported, but there' are still a few patients who are very ill. Both hospitals are doing great service. So far not a case has been reported among the Chinese.
