RED CROSS “OUR DAY” FLAG DRIVE

The. great flag drive in connection with the Red Cross "Our Day” appeal starts to-day. A very energetic body of workers, .under the leadership, of Mr Matt. Carr,, have completed arrangements for the successful- carrying .-:out of this scheme, which in Australia was the moans-of-raising £106,000 for'Red Cross purposes. ■ The whole of Wellington city and-suburbs has been divided into suitable areas. Workers -from various branches of tlio Red Cross and other patriotic organisations have undertaken to work them systematically, so there is no danger of overlapping. One of the attractive features of the scheme is that It entails no expense, so that all money realised from tho sale of the flags goes direct .to’the benefit of the good cause. Application for permits and flags should be made at the head office, 830, Lambton quay.
