executive MEtanxa . The central executive of the Second Division Lestgue met la&t evening, Air H. A. Armstrong -(president) being in the chair. The secretary reported that no replies had been yet received from the Minister Tor Defence or the Prime Minister to the letters .sent by tho league on the alien question, the retention of lit men on the staffs, and complaints re failure of the Financial Assistance Board to meet tibe requirements of soldiers. It was decided to write again expressing the hope that these matters had not been overlooked.
A number of complaints received from reservists to the effect that they were not getting satisfaction from tho Financial Assistance Board in the matter of new insurance policies for £2OO were dealt with, and it was decided to write to the Minister for Defence asking him whether it was tho intention of the Government to fulfill the premiss made to pay premium and war risk on those new policies where the reservist was not previously insured and his financial position warrants assistance, and, if so, that the board be advised to make these grants accordingly. It was further decided, in view of continued complaints that financial assistance for rent, etc., was not being granted in cases requiring assistance that The Afinistor be ashed whether it- was the desire of Government to have the spirit of the regulations, which had been so fully u<cd in Parliament in a.n attempt to justify the inadequate separation allowances, recognised by the hoard and carried into effect.
