THE SOCIAL EVIL

To the Editor “N.Z. Times.” Sir, —It is with amazement I read the suggestions put forward by Miss Rout in tins morning’s issue for the debasement of women. It seems incredible that a woman should advocate this awful traffic, dragging our womanhood down to the lowest depths, forgetting that in debasing woman wo also debase man. It, is time that women advocated higher ideals. The thanks of every right-minded woman of this Dominion are due to Dady Stout, for her untiring effort on behalf of the upliftment of her sex, and as a mother 1 urge on the women of this Dominion to rise and band together for their common welfare and tlio uplifting of humanity, spiritually and mentally.—l am. etc,, E. J. MOURE, Hon. Sec., N.A.S.C. Wellington. October 2-Mlt.
