NO excursion fares during HOLIDAYS. AH holiday and other excursion fares have been cancelled until the conclusion of the war, and it is not intended to make any concession on the existin" rates for Christmas or other holidays, either in connection with the faros of adults or children. Even in existing circumstances the Railway Department will have considerable difficulty in providing staff for the additional trains that it may he necessary to run during the holiday season. This was the printed reply given m tho House of Representatives yesterday bv tho Minister for Bad ways in reply to Mr J. Vigor Brown.
