Tlie Lord Chancellor (Sir _ Robert Finlay) has expressed the opinion that ‘Oorma-ny’s submarine methods are absolutely iliegal. Although international law is suspended, it is not dead. When the Allies dictate peace terms, they should, insist that Germany’s commands should not be a defence to one who had perpetrated piratical outrages, and persons guilty of thorn should meet the fate of pirates. DUTCH COMMENT ON COWARDLY DEEDS. • Published in “Tho Timea-’* AMSTERDAM. August 12. The “Eindhovensch Dagblad” (published in Eindhoven, Holland) has been suspended for commenting on the sinking of fishing boats. Tho paper contrasted the Gormans’ scandalous and sowardly deeds with Holland’s charity in receiving each week hundreds _of German children snatched from famine and thousands of prisoners coining into Holland to increase her poverty. The paper concludes; ‘‘The time has come to speak to the sea pirates in a genuine German way.”
