THIRD GRADE. At Petone on Saturday afternoon St. David’s met' Y.M.C.A. Neither side was able to secure a win, the game ending in a draw. Andrews shot a goal for St. David’s, and Galloway one for Y.M.C.A. Mr A. Cahill was in charge. FOURTH GRADE. Marist showed better combination than St. David’s in the game that took place between these teams at Petone on Saturday afternoon, and won by 4 goals to 2. Marshall, Sellers, O’Sullivan, and Costello scored for Marist, while Judd shot the two goals obtained by St. David’s. Mr A- Cahill had charge of the whistle. Island Bay v. Kilbirnie.—This game was played on the Kilbirnie Reserve and proved to be a good game. Soon after the commencement of the game Kilbirnie opened their scoring. Not long afterwards they again scored. This score remained unchanged till half-time. A fine rush by the Bay forwards ended in a goal being scored. Kilbirnie again broke away and scored. Then the Island Bay team suddenly woke up, and Kilbirnie had their work cut out to hold them in check. Island Bay were awarded a penalty through an infringement by a Kilbirnie back. S. Ledger took the kick and succeeded in placing the ball between the posts. At this stage of the game rain started to fall, making the ball very slippery, several good shots going wide. Both teams were striving hard to win, and after a good hard game Island Bay proved the victors by 8 goals to 6. Scorers for the winners were Greensido (3), Newton (3), and S. Ledger and S. Adams (I each), and for the losers Drawbridge (4), and R. Adams and Hyder (1 each) scored. FIFTH B GRADE. Wadestown defeated Kilbirnie by 3 goals to nil. Island Bay won by default from Institute D. Marist 1, Boys’ Institute B team 0. Island Bay won by default from Boys’ Institute G team. SIXTH B GRADE. Boys’ Institute A team 5, Thorndon 0. Marist (N; E team 2, Boys’ Institute B team 1. Boys’ Institute C team won by default from Marist (N) A team.
