Myers to-day. “There can be little doubt,” said the Minister, “that in view of the fact that our commitments are • so heavy in regard to equipment and maintenance of troops it will he necessary to obtain authority, when Parliament meets, for a further war loan. In this connection I would like to point out that it is tho duty of large institutions ns well as firms and individuals to put aside as much as possible, so that when tho new war loan prospectus is launched they will bo in a position to do their duty and subscribe to tho utmost ,Imit of available resources.” Asked if he could give' an idea as to the amount that would ho asked for, Mr Myers said tho fact that “our expenditure directly for war purposes approximated £1,000,000 per month it is, I think, sufficient indication that the sum required will bd substantial. In anticipation, therefore, everyone can do his duty by endeavouring to place his financial resources in such a condition as to enable him to ,take a portion of the loan.”
