“The Home Breakers,” a , most laughable two-real Keystone coinedy, is the leading attraction of the new programme presented- at the Empress continuous pictures yesterday. The chief performers are “Mr • Ambrose” and “.Mr Walrus,” -whose genuine comicalities have -earned them a prominent position among,; photo-players. “Mr Ambrose,"’ in the role of a bank -director, becomes attracted by the wife of hie, clerk, “Mr Walrus.” The clerk'and’the director's wife also indulge in open flirtation. The climax is reached wnen the director and "Mrs* Walrus” are- accidentally locked up in the strong room, and are thus discovered when "Mr Walrus" dynamites the strong-room door :to rob the bank. Several interesting" scenes connected with the war are shown -in “The Topical. Budget.” ■ "A Nameless Fear” (Lubin Sfama), 'iThe’ Stenographer” (Edison drama), and “The Allies’ Ohorus” (Cines cartoon)) three excellent items complete the series'. A notable special picture, shown for the first time in New Zealand, was “Scenes following the Lusitania Outrage.’’ ■ This fine record shows some very fine and deeply interesting views of rescue work and, the great sufferings- of the survivors afterwards.
