INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION
The monthly meeting- of the executive of the VVC'Jbngton Provincial Industrial Association'was held last night. Mr C* 8., Norwood presided, and among those present.was Mr J. B.’ Laureuson,' preei-' dent of the. Canterbury . Association. The secretary (Mr H. "If, Allen) stated that a letter of wiudoJeuce.had been s©nt to the president .of . the association (Mr Norwood) in connection with the recent loss’ of his mother. Similar letters were forwarded to the family of Mr and Mrs Macky, victims of the Lusitania outrage. Advice was received from the Government Statistician (Mr Malcolm Eraser) that he was unable to grant a request for thirty copies of the 1914 Year Book, but the association, would be placed on the free mail list for three copies annually. ’ . , i The Auckland Association wrote askinn- for consideration of certain resolutions. • Tho presentation of prizes for school essays relating to industrial sub■iects, and a proposal that industrial talk’should be embodied in-school ‘.'jour-, nats,’’ as -'veil as the fifth and sixth standard .pupils .paying periodical visits to the various factories for the purpose of acquiring a little more than theoretical knowledge of certain industries;.'were the chief items on the schedule.—On the motion of the chairman it was resolved that further information bo asked .for.
