BIG FIRE AT PERA
Roumania is said to be ready for immediate participation in the war. Tho Entente Powers exchanged views regarding the Bulgarian Note, with the object of arriving at friendly terms as a basis of further negotiations with a view to Bulgaria departing flora neutrality. Turkish offers to Bulgaria are referred to in this morning’s messages.
Sir John French reports on British operations, and another message sliows how the British smashed a big plan of the enemy’s to break through tho lines. ■
Tho Russians are fighting bravely, and, it is said, are preparing to hold Lemberg to the last. A German paper significantly warns its countrymen not to be over sanguine as to tho results of the Galician campaign.
The Kaiser has something to say about peace, and odds that “it could be signed to-morrow if I wished”! " .
Italian operations, both naval and military, are proceeding. Tolmino, it is reported, threatens to become a second Przemysl.
