Among vessels sheltering in the vicinity of Blind Bay on Friday was the Squall, bound from East Coast to Westport. Johnston and Co. advise that the Ripple will not arrive back at Wellington until Tuesday morning from Gisborne. At 7 o’clock yesterday morning the Shaw, Savill, and Albion iinor Rangatira left Wellington for London via Monte Video and Teueritfe. Mr L- H. Evans, late of the Australia, has joined the Victoria as wireless operator, in place of Air L. S. Lane, who has transferred to the Manuka. Mr G. E. Towns, of last-mentioned boat, has come ashore at Wellington. The Arahura was unable to get on thioatent slip on Thursday, but was taken up yesterday morning for cleaning and painting. The vessel will .sail as usual to-day for Greyfnouth via ports. The Mokoia, due at Wellington about 11 o’clock this morning from Melbourne and Hobart via south, will berth at No. 1. south (outer tee). Queen’s wharf. She wilt sail on Monday at 3 p.m. for Melbourne direct. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Co. advises that the Paparoa is expected at Wellington on Monday afternoon from London via- ports.

Owing to the Rarawa being detained at Onehunga by the bar being unwork able; she will not leave New Plymouth until 8.20' p-m. on Tuesday. It was recently announced that the vessel would sail from the Taranaki port at 11.30 p.m. on Tuesday, but this intention ha» been altered. Yesterday Mr J. J. Flaherty joined the Ngahere as third engineer) in place oi Mr J. H. H. Holm. Mr" W. G. Sands signed on the Pohe rua’s articles yesterday as chief engineer, in place of Mr W. G- Scott. Mr VV- Hastie, third officer of the Arahura, has transferred to the Poherua . as second, vice Mr E. Gibson. Tne Greymouth oar was stnl unwork able yesterday. The Kamo was outside Hie bar and tho Karamu was in port. The Kittawa left Bluff at 6 p.m. on Thursday for Timaru and Wellington. The vessel is due here early on Monday morning. The vessel's cargo of cheese is for the Papaxoa. Tho Hinemoa will leave Bluff early on Monday for West Coast and Wellington The vessel will probably endeavour to land at Waipapapa Point lighthouse to day. but if the weather continues unfavourable the stores etc., will be sent overland, to the lighthouse. The Hinemoa will probably be back at Wellington about the 29th inst.
