A meeting of the Wellington Accountant _ Students’ Society was held last evening, the chair being occupied by Mr J. L. Arcus, F.1.A.,N.Z., in the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr Ernest W. Hunt. Tho sae*etary (Mr T. announced that one of the members of the society, Mr E. Ashe, who had joined tho colours in England, was wounded in Flanders whilst serving with tho Eastern Mounted Brigade, and had been invalided back to England. However, be was now sufficiently recovered to rejoin his brigade in the firing line. The business of the evening was principally tho reading of ten-minute papers by members of tho society. The papers wore as follow;—“lnsurance ■ftccour.ts" (read bv Mr F. Johnston, chief accountant of tho Ocean Accident and Guarantee Corporotion), “Locating Errors in Trial Balance" (Mr G. W. F. Rouse) ; “Solicitors’ Trust Accounts" (Mr L. O’Connor).
