AN ESCAPEE CAUGHT

SECOND ONE STILL AT LARGE. Press Association. TIMARU, March 13. Wilson, one of the two youths who escaped from Timaru gaol two nights ago, was captured at noon to-day at Adair, five miles from town. He was bailed up by a constable when resting on the roadside. He had obtained shoes, a revolver, a butcher’s knife, and had some food, but was very tired and refused to talk. His mate is supposed to have gone further south, as it is reported several places have been broken into about Otaio, When they were first arrested 1 both admitted that it was they who tried to steal a motor launch in Timaru harbour some days ago. They intended to go to Auckland in her, but could not manage the engine.
