SWIMMING

THORNDON CLUB., Last evening tho Thorndon Club held the final of the 100yds President’s Handicap, the preliminary heats' of which had been decided on Thursday night. The event resulted: —J. Thomas (ssec) 1, R. Evans (2sec) 2, R. Watson (4seo) 3. Also started—A. W. Smith 20sec, C. Biggie, J. Garrett, J. Shearer ssec, and S. Dudson 3sec. An interesting finish resulted. Thomas swam a good race, and won by a touch from Evans, who finished two feet in front of Watson. Time, 72 l-sseo. This afternoon a 100yds handicap and a ladies’ race (50yds handicap) will be decided.
